Honours to be presented at this year's Beauty Düsseldorf

MUA Laila Hamidi and skin physiologist Professor Michael Schmidt are set to receive two prestigious honours at this year's Beauty Düsseldorf event taking place in Germany at the end of this month.
Laila Hamidi (pictured) will be presented with the 2017 Golden Mask for Make-Up Art, honouring her creativity, technical expertise and dedication to the image of make-up artists. Afgan-born Laila is considered to be one of the most talented and successful make-up artists and stylists in the entertainment industry, specialising in styling international celebrities for performances, film recordings and photo shoots.
Professor Michael Schmidt will receive the Life of Beauty Award at the event. The award honours personalities for their special merits in professional cosmetics and for driving the industry forward.Professor Schmidt is a biochemist and skin physiologist with research interests including the functions of the skin barrier, skin and immune system, forms of skin cancer and the role of free radicals in the health theory of salutogenesis. He is also founder of Integrative Cosmetics, brands which follow the approach that skin care should be integrated, holistic and scientifically substantiated.
Beauty Düsseldorf 2017 takes place Friday 31st March to Sunday 2nd April.
