German salons experience boost following post-lockdown reopening
Phorest Salon Software has given a glimpse into the future of hair and beauty salons by analysing findings from Germany.
With many businesses across Europe now open, the software company has run the numbers from German salons, giving an insight into what the first month back may look like for UK-based locations.
According to Phorest, even with social distancing measures in place, German salons performed an impressive 128 more services and saw an increase in client visits in the first month of reopening, with 30% of salons making the decision to open an extra day a week to accommodate the demand.
In addition, the data showed German salons experienced a 12% increase in revenue from retail sales, helping businesses to bolster the profit gap caused by social distancing measures.
Phorest Salon Software have been supporting salons throughout the pandemic with a host of ‘Back in Business' resources, including free email and SMS templates, as well as a post lockdown revenue calculator to help work out how much revenue your salon will need with social distancing measures.
Although some sectors of the UK economy are predicted to return over the coming weeks, it appears the beauty and hair industries will have to remain closed until July at the earliest.
Under the Government's ‘COVID-19 Recovery Strategy- Phase 3', personal care (such as hairdressers and beauty salons), hospitality (such as food service providers, pubs and accommodation), public places (such as places of worship) and leisure facilities (like cinemas) are currently scheduled to reopen no earlier than 4th July.
