CND work their nail magic for Vivienne Westwood at LFW

CND, partnered with key CND Artist, Marian Newman to dress the nails for the Vivienne Westwood Autumn Winter 17/18 UNISEX show at London Fashion Week Men.

The collection, entitled ‘Ecotricity' encouraged people to make the switch to renewable energy sources. Nails took a political turn within the show and were designed around exposing political lies (dramatic red hues) and bringing to light eco truths (deep green shades). Dramatic finger puppets were created and stitched on nails pieced together creating a shattered effect, whilst the classic French Manicure was twisted to the palm.

“Vivienne Westwood is a political activist and uses her beliefs as themes through her fashion shows and collections,” says Marian Newman. “This translated to the nails with the messages of ‘recycle' and ‘eco and lies'. Reuse where you can. Featured colours were a punk viridian veil of darkened green and a boudoir berry tone filled with 'lies.”

The looks were created by Marian alongside a team of seven CND stylists (Jennie Nippard, Charli Jepson, Rachel Furr, Becca Gray, Nic Hills, Antonia Catalano and Anita Puluczkai) who prepped and applied the nails backstage.
